The Home Fires project
After a successful funding bid from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historical Huzzahs and the Theatre Royal Winchester are pleased to present their Second World War piece “Home Fires”.
An interactive performance exploring the stories of those who ‘kept the home fires burning’ throughout the Second World War using verbatim recordings and theatrical retellings.
The project takes the form of a Victory in Europe Day party, celebrating successes of the war with a Women’s Voluntary Service style café and an Air Raid Precautions post to create an immersive platform for the storytelling and object handling.
This production is ideal for heritage properties and historic sites.
