Creating with Costume and Resurrecting Recipes
Martin Jakeman hosts an informal talk on bringing history off the page. Join him to discover the meaning and uses of ‘Costumed Interpretation’ in the museum and heritage sectors.
This informal talk covers the basics of Costumed Interpretation and how to use period recipes to create a deeper connection with audiences.
You will hear how he creates performative interpretations for heritage sites and why this particular method will come to play an increasingly significant role within the future of this sector. The session will be centred around the Great War (1914-18) and demonstrate how to form convincing characters, informative scripts and engaging interactions.
